Sunny family day

In the summer of 2024, colleagues at insurance broker Vanbreda enjoyed a family day they would never forget. With a varied programme of activities such as a bike safari, water course, junior range experience and more in the beautiful Hoge Kempen National Park. Afterwards, everyone enjoyed a delicious luxury barbecue.

School had already started, but summer was far from over! On this sunny day, Vanbreda colleagues and their families enjoyed a wonderful day in the Hoge Kempen National Park. It was the perfect opportunity to soak up the last rays of sunshine.

Activities

There were activities to suit everyone. Naturally, with the necessary guidance from the rangers and excellent organisation (if we may say so ourselves).

It would be a shame to be in such a beautiful location and not explore it! That's why we had lots of activities that allowed you to experience the splendour of the park. Would you prefer something quiet, child-friendly, very adventurous, or with a snack along the way?

For those who wanted to explore the park and all it has to offer on foot, we had a wide range of walks on offer.

• National Park Experience: a tour of the park accompanied by experienced rangers.
• Junior Ranger Experience: a tour of the park accompanied by experienced rangers, tailored to children.
• Walking safari on your own: for the individualists!
• Walk & Taste: a feast for the eyes and the mouth, with all the delicacies the park has to offer.
• Mine Walk & Beer: a walk along the mine terrils with a beer tasting.
• Nature & Play: for kids who enjoy completing fun nature challenges.

Those who preferred to explore the park by bike could choose between leisurely city bikes or a challenging mountain bike ride.

Water lovers were also catered for:

• Aquapark water course: for adventurers on the water
• Aqua Garden swimming pool: a delightful tropical indoor swimming pool, where you can imagine yourself in faraway places

In between, there was also children's entertainment such as a bouncy castle, circus act, bubble blowing, crafts, and face painting.

BBQ

In the evening, there was a lavish, amazing Ofyr barbecue. Delicious fish, meat and vegetables and a salad buffet to fill hungry stomachs. Salmon, cauliflower steak, scampi, baby potatoes... Our mouths are watering just thinking about it!
